07/17/2006 - Munich, Germany (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Bundesliga champion Bayern Munich extended the contract of head coach Felix Magath on Monday to an extra year.

The coach will remain with the German club until 2008 after signing the one- year extension. Magath's current contract was set to expire in 2007.

Magath first came to Bayern in May 2004 from fellow Bundesliga club Stuttgart. Since his first season in Munich, Magath has led the club to back-to-back league titles.

"I will do everything in my power together with the team to build on our past triumphs and, with a new, younger team maybe even achieve a bit more," Magath told the club's website.

In the 2005-06 campaign, Bayern Munich finished the season with 75 points and 22 wins. The team secured the first place finish with a five-point cushion over second place Werder Bremen.
